Kent Stardew Valley Guide: Schedule, Gifts, Events & Quests
There is a soldier in Pelican Town who was fighting in a war during your first year in the game and comes to this village in the spring of next year. His name is “Kent.” He comes to live with his wife, Jodi, and his two sons, Sam and Vincent. His birthday is on Spring 4, and he lives at 1 Willow Lane.

Even though Kent Stardew Valley is finally back home, he has a hard time adjusting to normal life again. The war has changed him, and sometimes he seems quiet, serious, or even upset. This is because he went through tough times during the war and now needs support from others to feel better.
Kent is not as easy to befriend as some other villagers, but once you get to know him, you’ll see that he’s a kind and caring person deep inside. He enjoys simple things like peace and comfort. In this article, you’ll learn more about Kent’s background, his daily routine, the gifts he likes, and how you can become his friend. Helping Kent feel welcome in Pelican Town is one small way to show kindness, and it makes your farm story even more meaningful.
Kent Schedule
Kent has a simple routine in Stardew Valley. Most days, he leaves his house at 7:00 AM and stands near the river close to the beach. By 10:30 AM, he goes back home. At 2:00 PM, he stands under a tree north of his house, then returns home at 5:00 PM. In the evening, he moves around inside the house or stands under the tree in front until bedtime at 11:00 PM.
On rainy days, Kent still goes outside. He stands under a tree north of his house in the afternoon and in front of his house at night.
On Fridays and Saturdays, instead of staying home in the evening, he goes to the Stardrop Saloon until midnight.
On Sundays, he visits the church at Pierre’s store in the morning and shops there afterward. If Alex is your spouse, Kent watches gridball with him at the saloon.
Kent also joins all festivals. After unlocking Ginger Island Resort, he might spend a day there and comes home by 6:00 PM to sleep.

Movies and Concessions
Kent Stardew Valley doesn’t have any movies he loves, but he enjoys watching lighthearted or adventurous films. Some of his favorites include Journey of the Prairie King: The Motion Picture, Natural Wonders: Exploring Our Vibrant World, The Brave Little Sapling, The Miracle at Coldstar Ranch, The Zuzu City Express, and Wumbus. On the other hand, he dislikes darker or confusing films like It Howls in the Rain and Mysterium.
When it comes to movie snacks, Kent loves classic treats like popcorn and stardrop sorbet. He doesn’t like overly sweet or strange snacks such as black licorice, cotton candy, jawbreakers, Joja Cola, JojaCorn, rock candy, or sour slimes. He’s okay with most other snacks.
Heart Events of Kent Stardew Valley
Kent in Stadew Valley has a few heart events that help reveal more about his past and personality as you grow closer to him.
Once you reach any friendship level above zero, Kent may start sending you random gifts like bombs, cherry bombs, mega bombs, or battery packs in the mail. He usually says the item was lying around in his toolshed and he thought you might need it.
At three hearts, if you enter his house while Kent and Jodi are both there, a cutscene will trigger. Jodi makes popcorn, but the sound upsets Kent and reminds him of the war. You’re given three choices on how to respond. One helps him calm down and builds friendship, while the others upset him and lower your relationship.
Also at three hearts, Kent mails you a recipe for Crispy Bass, saying he learned it overseas and wants to thank you for being kind.
At seven hearts, Kent sends you another recipe — this time for Super Meal — again mentioning he picked it up while away and appreciates your friendship.
These events give a deeper look at Kent’s life after the war and how he’s trying to adjust.
Quests
Kent Stardew Valley has a few quests you can complete to increase friendship and earn rewards:
- A Soldier’s Star: On Summer 15 of Year 2, Kent will send you a letter asking for a Starfruit. If you give it to him, you’ll get 500g and +1 heart of friendship.
- He may also randomly post requests on the Help Wanted board outside Pierre’s shop. Completing these gives you 3x the item’s base value and 150 friendship points.
- In The Pirate’s Wife quest, you must give Kent the War Memento to help complete the story.
These quests offer good ways to learn more about Kent and build a stronger bond with him.
