Clint is a shy non-marriageable character who works and lives in the Blacksmith Shop. You can upgrade your tools at this shop and buy ores like gold, iron, and copper. The shop remains open from 9 AM to 4 PM. It’s between the Library and Joja Mart on the eastern side of Pelican Town.
You can find Clint mostly at the Blacksmith Shop. His birthday is on Winter 26. Stardew Valley Clint has a crush on Emily but due to his shyness, he can’t tell her. A note was found in his bedroom that shows his feelings towards Emily. These were the exact word written on that note:
“Dear Emily, I know you only think of me as a friend. It’s my fault. I’m too shy. I’ll never have the courage to tell you the truth. That’s why I’m writing this letter to myself that I’ll certainly crumple up and toss in the corner.”

Blacksmith shop closes on Fridays after the Community Center is fixed and on Winter 16 in the morning. It’s across the river, bottom right in town.
From Year 2, stuff like ore and coal costs more to buy (like Copper Ore goes from 75g to 150g), but you don’t get more money when you sell them. You can sell gems, ores, and bars to Clint, but not geodes.
Clint can make your tools better like your Axe, Pickaxe, Hoe, Watering Can, and Trash Can. You need metal bars (copper, iron, gold, or iridium) and some gold to pay him. It takes 2 days. Better tools help you work faster. He keeps working even during town parties, but you might wait an extra day to get your tool back if the shop is closed.
Clint can also open geodes for 25g. You might find gems or coal inside. He opens other things like Mystery Boxes too, for the same price.
Clint Schedule
Clint Stardew Valley has different plans depending on the day or weather. Normally, Clint opens his Blacksmith shop at 9:00 am and stands behind the counter. At 5:00 pm, he works on his anvil which is a big, heavy metal block blacksmiths use to shape hot metal with a hammer. At 7:00 pm, he goes to The Saloon, gets there by 8:20 pm, and stays until midnight. Then he goes home to sleep. If it’s raining, he does the same: shop at 9:00 am, anvil at 5:00 pm, Saloon at 7:00 pm, home at midnight. Rain doesn’t stop him.
On Fridays, after the Community Center is fixed, Clint Stardew Valley skips the shop unless it’s raining. He leaves home at 8:50 am for the Community Center’s Boiler Room until 5:00 pm, then heads to The Saloon until midnight. If the Ginger Island Beach Resort is open, he might visit there on Fridays instead, leaving at 6:00 pm to go home and sleep.

Like every other character, you can give him 2 gifts a week. plus one on his birthday (Winter 26). Birthday gifts give 8 times more points and get a special response. For loved, liked, or neutral gifts on his birthday, he says: “I don’t usually get birthday gifts. This means a lot, <player>. Thank you.”
For disliked or hated gifts on his birthday, he says: “Is this a birthday gift? It’s, uh… an interesting choice. Well, I appreciate that you remembered me, anyway.”Clint loves gems, bars, and ores because he’s a blacksmith, but he really doesn’t like flowers (except Poppy).

Stardew Valley Clint has special moments called heart events that happen as you become better friends with him. These show more about who he is and what he likes. Here’s what happens and how to see them:
Anytime (More Than 0 Hearts):
If you’re friends with Clint (even just a little), he might send you a metal bar in the mail—like a Copper Bar, Iron Bar, or Gold Bar. He writes a short note saying he made an extra one and thought you could use it. The better friends you are, the more likely he’ll send it!
3 Hearts (Part 1):
Visit the Stardrop Saloon on Monday from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Clint tells you he’s shy with girls and asks for help. You can say:
- “Show them you’re strong and cool” (+25 friendship points).
- “Be wild so they’re surprised” (+25 friendship points).
- “Just be yourself” (no change).
- “Treat girls like you treat guys” (+50 friendship points).
Then Emily comes to take his order, and Clint gets nervous. He tries to talk to her but gives up. He feels sad when he sees Emily chat easily with Shane.
3 Hearts (Part 2):
After you’re at 3 hearts, Clint sends you a recipe for Algae Soup in the mail. He says it might help you mine better and signs it as your friend.
6 Hearts:
Walk into town from Cindersap Forest between 9:00 am and 6:30 pm, but only if you saw the 3-heart event at the Saloon. You can’t see this if you’re married to Emily or if you’ve seen her 8 or 10-heart events. You catch Clint hiding in bushes, watching Emily. He wanted to ask her out but got scared. You tell him you won’t fix his tools unless he tries. Clint asks Emily to the Grampleton Carnival the next day. She says yes, and Clint is super happy and nervous. He thanks you for pushing him.
7 Hearts:
When you reach 7 hearts, Stardew Valley Clint sends you another recipe in the mail, this time for Bean Hotpot. He says it’s another recipe to help you mine and wishes you well.
