A Stardew Valley player discovered a funny detail about George that his forehead looks like a hidden smile when talking to him. This surprised many fans, as George is known for being grumpy. The discovery went viral on Reddit, with players joking about his “secret happy side.”

Hidden Smile of George.
  • Egg Festival: “Why is everyone so cheerful? Hmph… It’s just eggs.”
  • Flower Dance: “Flowers? I can barely see them. It’s too bright out here!”
  • Luau: “That music is way too loud. Can’t I just enjoy the ocean in peace?”
  • Dance of the Moonlight Jellies: “What? Why are you looking at me like that? You think I’m too old to enjoy this?”
  • Stardew Valley Fair: “Hmm… Smoked turkey haunch? Maybe this festival isn’t so bad after all.”
  • Spirit’s Eve: “I don’t see what’s so special about all this.” (George doesn’t attend the festival, but he has scripted dialogue.)
  • Festival of Ice: “Hmph… My wife dragged me out into the freezing cold for this?”
  • Night Market: “I’m only here for the free coffee.”
  • Feast of the Winter Star: “A big feast just because of some star? What a waste.”
  • Desert Festival (Even-numbered years): “What’s she mumbling about? I’m here for the spicy food tent!”

At first, George is cold, but he slowly warms up. Over time, he appreciates the player’s kindness and becomes more open in his dialogues.

George watches TV often due to his limited mobility, making it his main entertainment. His Advanced TV Remote in The Pirate’s Wife quest shows how much he values small comforts.

George is grumpy because of his past. He was a hardworking farmer but lost mobility after an accident. His frustration makes him short-tempered, but he still cares about his family and others.
